Teacher Profile

Teri Andos – Founder of “English for Kids!” is a native English speaker and grew up in Valley City, Ohio in the United States. She has a Liberal Arts Degree (B.A) from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, where she majored in Studio Art and emphasized in photography. She began coursework towards her MBA at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, but put her studies on hold when she moved to Stuttgart, Germany.  Since 1997 Teri has resided in Rüschlikon with her two children Christina (’92) and Max (‘96) their cat "Schneestern" and Elvis the guinea pig.

Teri grew up in a multilingual environment with her father’s family speaking Greek and her mother’s family speaking Ukranian. She studied Greek in college and traveled throughout Greece for a term. Teri moved to Germany in 1989 and studied German in Stuttgart and then in Berlin at the Goethe Institute. She clearly understands the learning of languages through her own experiences and the experiences of her children learning both Swiss and High German. Both children are multilingual.  Her philopsphy of learning expressive and receptive language skills through participating in daily activities has proven highly successful.  She has students who have "studied" with her the past 5 years since the program was founded.

Teri enjoys working with children and finds their enthusiasm contagious. Her main goal is that the children have fun during her classes.  "If the children are having fun and enjoying their activity for the week then they are motivated to come back.  Sometimes they are having so much fun that they don't even realize that it's a class and they are learning.  Learning SHOULD be fun!"
